iPad 6 damaged digitizer assessment and repair

Assessment # 1:

Incoming device is iPad Air model designation A1893. It is also known as iPad 6. In addition the customers name is Shannon Maray with the Phone number 951-XXX-5144. Customer is coming in today for his iPad 6 damaged digitizer assessment and repair.

Furthermore it looks like the touch ID is deactivated so we are not able to test it. However the home button is responsive and the digitizer is also functional but that is irrelevant since we will be replacing the entire front screen and digitizer as a whole.

The new part does come with complete glass and digitizer. The repair time will take approximately about an hour and half. Moreover it took about 15 minutes to pull out the glass. Now we will proceed forward with the repair by asking Junior tech. Shane to clean off the adhesive.

I break up the repair into 8 different sections.  I ask him to do a section at a time and then assess it. Furthermore I will go ahead and allocate about 3 minutes per section. Therefore about 24 minutes to completely remove the old adhesive and clean it off.

In addition I will also remove the four hidden screws that hold down the LCD. Associate tech. Shane is standing right beside me and his instructions are to just remove the four screws and not remove the adhesive.

However I will remove the connectors since they are delicate and we do not want to risk the chance of damaging the cable. Especially in this area since it hold down the touch ID and home button. And once we damage that cable it will render the touch ID and home button inoperable.

I speculate customer damaged the screen by accidentally dropping it down a flight of stairs. Furthermore customer works at Chick-fil-A and was referred over to Cyberion by her manager. Consequently she arrived at Cyberion from 21405 Annapolis, MD

Assessment # 2:

Ok! here is a video pass of the adhesive work done by me and Junior tech Shane and I. In addition we had about 2-3 customers in between that slowed us down a little. Moreover there is a little debri caught up in the deep edges of the iPad that will not affect the adhesive too much.

Over all we took about 30 minutes to get this iPad 6 cleaned out. I will ask Mr. Shane to do one more pass on it just to clean it further. In the mean time I will try and mount the touch ID button on to the new digitizer.
